Research Interests:

My research interests are in using microfossil remains of marine organisms that have accumulated on the sea floor to reconstruct past climates and ocean circulation.  My Ph.D. research is being conducted under the advisement of Dr. David Black from Stony Brook University.  My current research involves using foraminiferal census data from a Cariaco Basin basin sediment core to reconstruct climate change through Interstadial 12 (~42,800 - 45,800 years before present).  Lab Webpage

At the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, I completed my undergraduate thesis with
Dr. R. Mark Leckie.  My thesis was titled "Using geochemical proxies to reconstruct ancient deep sea circulation through the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico."  I used carbon and oxygen foraminiferal isotope data and fish teeth and bone neodymium isotope data to complete this research.

While I am not currently pursuing research in the field, I am also interested in geology, planetary astronomy, and galaxy evolution.  I worked on a research project with Dr. Daniel McIntosh at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, looking at the ongoing assembly of massive galaxies by major merging in large groups and clusters from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS).
