I am a second year Ph.D. student working with Dr. Ellen K. Pikitch at the Institute for Ocean Conservation Science. As a young environmental scientist and conservationist, I am passionate about preserving our coastal marine ecosystems for future generations. My current research focuses on quantifying the global economic and ecological importance of forage fish species (sardines, anchovies, herrings, etc). Aside from my research, a large component of my effort here at SoMAS has been devoted to increasing public environmental education.
