Sugar Cookies
This is a really simple recipe for the most basic of cookies. This is definitely something to try if you are interested in baking, but intimidated by a more involved recipe. This is great for beginners.
Here is the recipe. Bake time is 8 minutes at 375.

All the ingredients assembled.

The butter and the sugar go into the stand mixer. You can mix by hand if you don't have a stand mixer, just be ready to put in some effort.

Cream the butter and sugar together thoroughly.

Add the egg and milk.

Add everything else that isn't the flour, and combine.

Add the flour slowly, and with the mixer on a low setting to avoid making a huge mess.

Mix the batter until it is uniform and smooth.

Spoon the batter into whatever size cookies you would like. Make sure to leave enough room so that they don't all merge together.

For those with short attention spans, bake at 375 for 8 minutes.

Remove the cookies from the oven. They should be brownish around the edges.

Allow the cookies to cool, and enjoy.
